Offered Programs

  T-Ball:

Introduction to the fun of baseball!  Non-competitive, T-Ball league usually consists of 10-12 players per team.  Players are placed on teams by the league and try to keep players together when requested by parents or coaches.  Every player bats and plays defensively every inning.  Games will last for 3 innings (approx. 1 hour).  All players will hit off of a tee.  No outs, balls, strikes or score is kept.  Safety balls are used.  T-Ball season is shorter in duration.

· League age 4-6

· 7 year olds have the option to play T-Ball if the parent/guardian makes the request only if they have not previously      played (either in Little League or a different baseball program such as the Y)

  Coach Pitch:

The second phase of the progressive development league is competitive coach pitch.  Real baseballs are used, scores and standings are kept.  There are 3 outs per inning including strikeouts, with 6 innings played per game (approx. 1.5 hours). All teams in the league advance to the post-season tournament.  Minors Division rules apply, with the only real difference being a coach pitching to the players instead of another player.  Players attend a tryout (evaluation) prior to being placed on a team.

·  League ages 7 & 8 (7’s can also play T-Ball if requested or if another year of instruction is needed)

·  6 year olds have the option to try-out for Minors Coach Pitch if they have played at least (1) Year of T-Ball

·  All 6 year olds not drafted by a Minors Coach Pitch team will be placed on a T-Ball team

  Minors Kid Pitch:

The players first step into real kid-pitch baseball and instructional play.  Scores and standings are kept.  Balls, strikes and outs are all kept, with 6 innings played per game (Approx 1.5 to 2 Hours).  Players must attend a tryout (evaluation) prior to being drafted to a team.  All teams in the league advance to the post-season tournament.

Top players in the league can qualify for a league All-Star team (9-10 year olds only) that plays in a post-season All-Star tournament with the ability to advance to the state tournament.

· League age 9 & 10 (9’s can also play Minors Coach Pitch  if another year of instruction is needed and requested)

· League age 7 & 8 year olds have the option to try-out for Minors Kid Pitch.

· All 7 & 8 year olds not drafted by a Minors Kid Pitch team will be placed on a Minors Coach Pitch team.  This will also   be dependent on how many teams we can field of 9-10 year old players.

  Majors (Little League):

The Major League is primarily comprised of 11 and 12 year olds.  10 year olds are also eligible to try-out.  While still focused on player development, the league is far more competitive than Minor League Kid-Pitch.  Players must attend a try-out (evaluation) prior to being drafted onto a team.  Some players may see only the minimum amount of playing time.  Scores and standings are kept, 6 innings are played per game.  Teams compete in an Annual Davenport City Tournament and advance to the post-season League Tournament.  Top players in the league can qualify for a league All-Star Team that plays in a post-season All-Star Tournament with the ability to advance to the Little League World Series.

· League age 11 & 12

· 10 year olds have the option to try-out for Majors

·  9 year olds are not allowed to play in Majors per league rules
